      Reddit mentioned in their job posting that they were focusing on improving and scaling the backend infrastructure. Maybe something that would excite backend engineers? ;)

    Really hoping they'll look for someone who has experience with scaling social platforms. Reddit previously struggled with hate speech, trolling, and harassment. Addressing these problems as a lead software engineer would be definitely a thoughtful step.

    A friend of mine worked at Reddit a few years ago. They had some unique challenges dealing with a wide variety of communities, content, and users. It should be an exciting opportunity for the right engineer.
