I'm excited to see HN hiring Full Stack Engineers! Is this for the main site or something new?

This is for the main HN site, as we continuously strive to improve the platform and its features for our users.

How does the interview process look like for this position? I'm guessing it is quite challenging?

The interview process will involve a few rounds of technical assessments and a candidate values alignment discussion. It's engaging and informative, but def. no walk in the park.

What kind of tech stack are you looking for? Is it mostly modern web tech, or do you use any legacy stuff as well?

We're looking for developers with solid experience in HTML, CSS, React, and Node.js. Some Python knowledge is a plus, but not a requirement. Mostly modern web tech, little-to-no legacy stuff!

What's the expected work location? Can folks work fully remote, or will there be onsite requirements?

We're open to remote work for the right candidate as we have a distributed team. However, occasional onsite visits are required for team meetups and some alignment purposes.
