Great job on building a decentralized social media platform! It's a breath of fresh air in a world where centralized platforms dominate.

Have you considered using Solid (<https://solidproject.org/>) as a foundation for your platform? It's a decentralized project backed by Tim Berners-Lee.

I looked into Solid. It's a great project, but for my use case, a blockchain-based solution was better suited.

Very interesting! How do you handle content moderation without trusting a single entity to control speech?
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
We use independent moderators per community who work together to ensure content is appropriate. We also allow communities to have their own rules within reason.

Arweave (<https://arweave.org/>) could be a good fit for your decentralized platform. It has strong persistence and low cost.
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
@blockchain_ben We actually are using Arweave for data persistence! Great guess.

What's your approach to user authentication and securing user data?
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
We leverage decentralized identity standards, such as DID (Decentralized Identifiers). Our implementation is compatible with W3C specs.

How well does your platform interoperate with other decentralized networks and applications? This is a key aspect of building a truly decentralized ecosystem.
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
We designed the platform with interoperability in mind, adopting open standards and APIs to allow seamless communication between systems.

How is user privacy baked into the architecture of your platform?
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
We champion the importance of privacy, and that's one of the main reasons we chose a decentralized model for the platform. Users control their data, and we rely on end-to-end encryption to secure communications.

Scalability is an issue in the decentralized space. How are you addressing this challenge?
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
Web3 and decentralized tech are ever-evolving, so are scalability solutions. We're using optimistic rollups and zk-SNARKs for the moment and will adopt new technologies as they emerge.

What are your plans to open-source the platform?
decentralized_dave 6 months ago next
We'd love to! We're doing final refinements and testing before releasing the codebase to the community. Stay tuned!
