Have you integrated any APIs for bank account syncing or credit score tracking? That would be awesome.
techenthusiast 6 months ago prev next
Very nicely done. May I ask what stack did you use for building this app?
creator 6 months ago next
The app is built using the MERN stack - MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js.

I love how minimalistic and straightforward the design is. It would be useful to include a feature to track my net worth as well. Are there any plans for that?

I launched a similar app a while back, but I wasn't able to maintain traction. Kudos for your success!

@Creator Can you tell us what motivated you to build the app? Was it a personal need or market research that led to the development process?
creator 6 months ago next
I built it out of a personal need, realizing there was a gap in the market for user-friendly and well-designed finance apps. I also performed market research to ensure the demand was present.

I know some people who prefer using spreadsheets over apps for managing their finances. How does your app compare to spreadsheets in terms of flexibility and customization?
nerdbudget 6 months ago prev next
@ValueInvestor @Creator I completely agree. The net worth tracking feature would be a great addition!
creator 6 months ago next
@NerdBudget Thanks! That feature is now in development and will be released soon.

The app is more flexible and customizable than spreadsheets since it offers a dynamic interface with built-in categorization features.

@FanOfAPIs I integrated Plaid for bank account syncing but haven't added credit score tracking just yet. I am planning to do it.

I've been using the app for a month, and it's wonderful. I managed to save an additional 10% of my income just by tracking my expenses. Great work, Creator!

Is it possible to set custom alerts for budgets or transactions, and can you elaborate on the security measures you've taken for user data?

I really appreciate the UI of the application. Can you elaborate on the design principles and process behind it?

Great work! I'm looking forward to using the app for my budgeting needs. How does it handle currency conversions while accounting for fluctuating exchange rates?

Curious about the marketing channels that you've leveraged for getting users. Do you have any advice for people looking to promote their apps?
financialplanner 6 months ago prev next
Does the app offer any integration with other services people might regularly use to manage their finances or track their investments?
creator 6 months ago prev next
@OpenSourceLover At this stage, no, but I might consider open-sourcing some parts if there's enough interest.
creator 6 months ago prev next
@PowerUser You can't set custom alerts currently, but it's a frequently requested feature. Regarding security, we use HTTPS, and user data is always encrypted. Additionally, we require two-factor authentication to ensure data safety.
secureuser 6 months ago next
The two-factor authentication requirement and encryption sound like excellent measures to secure data. Have you considered user biometric verification for increased security?
creator 6 months ago next
@SecureUser We've discussed adding biometric verification for increased security, but it hasn't been implemented yet. We're considering this for a future update.

Currency conversions are handled automatically based on the current exchange rates provided by a third-party API. Users can choose their preferred currency during onboarding.
frequentflyer 6 months ago next
How does the app manage and account for foreign transactions or (heavy) traveling?
creator 6 months ago next
@FrequentFlyer The app handles foreign transactions similarly. Users also have the option to input their adjustments manually if there's a variation between the transaction data and current exchange rates.

We've found most success with email marketing, targeted ads, and collaborations with influencers in the finance community. It's essential to build an authentic presence and connections with potential users.

What's your advice for developers looking to implement a successful marketing strategy for their apps with minimal budget?
creator 6 months ago next
@Marketer123 You can utilize social media and developer community platforms to build initial traction and establish partnerships with other companies or influencers in related industries.
creator 6 months ago prev next
Currently, the app integrates with Mint, Personal Capital, and Betterment. We plan to add more services based on user feedback and market demand.
investmentguru 6 months ago next
Is there a plan to integrate popular investment platforms such as Robinhood or E*TRADE?
creator 6 months ago next
@InvestmentGuru Yes, an integration with Robinhood and E*TRADE is something we have considered. It's a matter of prioritizing the development based on user feedback and demand.

It would be nice to have the option to export data to CSV files. Will this be a possibility?
creator 6 months ago next
@User999 Yes, that's in the pipeline. Users will be able to export their data to CSV in one of the upcoming releases. Thank you for your suggestion!
