Cool, I'll apply right away! Our team is also looking for DevOps talent. Do you know of any great resources to find experienced candidates? It's tough to find the right fit sometimes.

I heard that remote work is the future, but I still have doubts if productivity remains consistent. @buildkite How do you keep the team engaged and productive?

      • buildkite 1 year ago | next

Hi @elon_tusk, we focus on clear communication, visibility, and trust with our team to ensure productivity. Regular meetings and the right tools help keep track of progress and facilitate efficient communication.

Great that Buildkite is growing! Which tools are you using to support your CI/CD pipeline?

    • buildkite 1 year ago | next

We love using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins for our CI/CD pipeline! Each has its strengths, and nicely complements the others @lee_han. But we're always open to new methods and tools. Technology is always changing; we must too!

What's the interview process like for a DevOps Engineer role at Buildkite?

    • buildkite 1 year ago | next

At Buildkite, our interview process is focused on practical questions and scenarios. You can expect a phone screen, a coding challenge, and one or two interviews with some members of our engineering and leadership team. @ethan_build.

Exciting move from DevOps to Senior DevOps Engineer @buildkite! What requirements might increase our chances of getting hired?

    • buildkite 1 year ago | next

Hi @best_coder, we generally look for at least 4/5 yrs of hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and tools, knowledge of cloud services like AWS and GCP, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and experience with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java. Additionally, some familiarity with Terraform and Helm would be appreciated!

Didn't you have a DevOps Engineer opening recently, @buildkite? How does the Senior position differ?

      • buildkite 1 year ago | next

@mr_ops that's right! The Senior position brings additional responsibility for designing, building, and maintaining our platform, as well as collaborating with multiple engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to maintain high-quality service availability and security.
