I've been using Reddit for similar discussions, but I'm looking for a more developer-focused alternative.

Have you tried DEV.to discussions? They've got a nice community and it's built specifically for developers.

Thanks for the suggestion! DEV.to discussions look promising; I'll check them out.

What about GitLab discussions? I think they offer some similar functionality to GitHub.

In my experience, GitLab discussions are quite user-friendly and have a lot of features. Definitely worth looking into.

I've heard of Discourse, a self-hosted forum option. But it might be too complex for what we need.

Discourse is great if you want full control over the look and features. It can be complex to set up and maintain, though.

Thanks for the heads up about Discourse. GitLab discussions are actually worth considering as well.

I moved away from GitHub discussions because of the cluttered interface and stickied threads. Hashnode might be a better alternative.

Interesting! I'll make sure to check out Hashnode as well. Thanks for another great suggestion.

Have you tried Slack communities or Discord servers? While not forum-based, they can be even more interactive and vibrant for discussions.

@mikesmith yeah, that's a fantastic idea. They might be less forum-centric, but having a channel dedicated to discussion would be interesting to explore for sure.
