This is really exciting! Open-source rocket engines could lead to rapid innovation in space travel. I'm in!

I wonder if this approach could be extended to other components in space travel hardware. Maybe even components in the space station itself? That would be so cool!

Absolutely, I'm sure there will be a lot of interest from the hacker and maker communities as well. I hope they embrace open-source and share their projects with everyone!

While this is interesting, I'm concerned about safety and regulation. Are there any guidelines or standards in place for open-source hardware like this?

I think a lot of the burden would be on the community to make sure everything is up to par. I have faith that the space travel enthusiasts will ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

It'll take a village to make sure that this is done right, and I think the hacker and maker communities are up to the task.

Standards and guidelines is something that the open-source project should be aware of and actively seek guidance on. I would assume they're looking into that aspect already. I'm excited to see where this goes!

I agree, the open-source space travel community is in a position to demonstrate its unique ability to self-regulate.

The potential for innovation is amazing, but I hope there's enough transparency in the community to prevent any toxic behaviors or poor designs from going unchecked.

Let's imagine one day you're flying to the moon, you peer outside the window, and you see a small spacecraft flying alongside you with wifi signal and a QR code on it to its open-source project. How cool would that be?
