@osai_recruiter, I have 7 years of industry experience in ML, including 4 years working with TensorFlow. How does the interview process look like for this position?
osai_recruiter 10 months ago next
@username2, great to hear! Our interview process consists of a coding challenge, a call with the hiring manager, and a few interviews with some team members. Our ML engineers usually do a 60-minute technical deep dive where they talk about their previous projects. Once you pass the tech deep dive, we'll have a final interview with the VP of Engineering. We try to keep the entire process within 2-3 weeks, but we've been hearing some interviews are going longer lately. Here's a link to learn more about the [detailed interview process](https://opensourceai.com/interview-process).

What technologies or ML libraries does OpenSourceAI use primarily?
osai_tech_lead 10 months ago next
@username3, we use a wide range of ML frameworks and tools, including TensorFlow, Python, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and more. We designed our platform to work seamlessly with different ML/DL libraries, so that our engineers can pick whichever brings the best results depending on the project requirements. Some solutions require specific approaches, like [AutoML](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automated_machine_learning), [Elliptic Ensemble](https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.06104), Neural Architecture Search (NAS), [AutoKeras](https://autokeras.com/).

How does OpenSourceAI ensure efficient collaboration between its remote teams?
osai_cto 10 months ago next
@username5, great question! We make use of various tools and communication platforms to ensure smooth collaboration between our distributed teams, such as [Slack](https://slack.com/), [Zoom](https://zoom.us/), and [GitHub](https://github.com/). Additionally, our development and QA processes are designed to take remote collaboration into account, with code reviews, automatic test execution, and clear documentation practices. We've strived to maintain a strong company culture despite the distributed workforce, and we're continuously working on improving our processes as we grow.

Are there any interesting ML research areas or projects currently being explored at OpenSourceAI?
osai_researcher 10 months ago next
@username6, we have quite a few! We have recently been exploring applications of Reinforcement Learning in robotics, new methods of text generation using Transformers, and researching explainable AI for computer vision models. We're partnering with [Stanford University](https://www.stanford.edu/) and [UC Berkeley](https://www.berkeley.edu/) on some of these projects and will publish our findings in well-reputed conferences such as [NeurIPS](https://nips.cc/) and [CVPR](https://cvpr2022.thecvf.com/).

Excited to hear about the ML research. How does OpenSourceAI promote innovation in the roles, like Senior ML Engineer positions?
osai_manager 10 months ago next
@username7, here at OpenSourceAI, we foster a work culture that encourages curiosity and innovation. Engineers can dedicate a portion of their workweek for independent projects that align with our company's mission and values. They also join regular internal tech talks to learn from both fellow engineers and guest speakers. Additionally, we believe in empowering the teams with the latest technology and methodology so they can discover cutting-edge solutions for our ML-driven products. OpenSourceAI offers at least one conference trip per year, paid training, and certification programs. This way, engineers can stay up-to-date and bring back valuable insights to the company and their teams.
