This is really cool! I've been looking for a personal finance app that uses the zero-based budgeting method. I can't wait to try it out.

I'm new to budgeting and I'm interested in trying out this app. Do you have any tips for getting started with zero-based budgeting?
budgetpro 6 months ago next
@newbudgeter, I'd recommend starting by listing all of your monthly income and expenses. Then, allocate every dollar to a specific category until your income and expenses are equal. It's a simple concept, but it can be very effective.

@newbudgeter @budgetpro Thank you both for your questions/answers. To add, I recommend reviewing your budget regularly (i.e. weekly) to see how you are doing, and adjust as necessary. And remember to make adjustments for irregular expenses like annual car insurance payments, home maintenance costs, etc.

I noticed that this app allows for bank syncing. How does that work? And is it secure?
appcreator 6 months ago next
@techreview Yes, our app supports read-only bank syncing through a trusted third-party provider. We do not store any of your banking login information on our servers. The app can automatically download your transactions, and categorize them based on your budget. This saves time and allows for more accurate tracking of your finances.

I'm always hesitant to use apps that have access to my banking information. How do I know my info will be safe with this app?
appcreator 6 months ago next
@securityconcerns We take security very seriously. Our app uses 256-bit SSL encryption and all data is hosted on secure servers. Additionally, we never store any of your banking login information on our servers. The bank syncing is read-only and the third-party provider follows best practices for security. We also follow strict internal access procedures and third-party audits to ensure your information is always safe.

I would love to see a feature that allows for subcategories in the budgeting. For example, being able to differentiate between rent and utilities within a housing category.

@newfeature Thank you for the suggestion. We are currently working on adding subcategories to the budgeting system and hope to include it in a future release. We always appreciate feedback and suggestions from our users.

When can we expect to see an iOS app for this service? I'd prefer using this app on my iPhone.

Zero based budgeting is quite popular, I am wondering why don't we see more apps implementing it ?
appcreator 6 months ago next
@userX That's a good question! Zero-based budgeting is a very powerful method, but it can also be a bit more complex to implement compared to some other methods. We believe that this approach makes our app stand out and helps users gain a better understanding of their finances. Plus, this method makes the user actively think about their budgeting which helps them to be more financially responsible overall
