Very interesting! I've been following Hyperspace (YC W21) and their work. Can anyone share more about the tech stack they're using and projects they're working on?

From what I know, they are using PostgreSQL, Node.js and GraphQL for their backend. Their main focus is creating a seamless and secure hyperdrive communication platform.

Any insights on the interview process? I'm planning to apply and would like to prepare better.

They asked me questions about my experience with PostgreSQL, Node.js and GraphQL when I interviewed. One interesting question for Senior Backend Engineers was, 'Design a middleware for handling PostgreSQL errors.'

Hyperspace seems to have a great vision. I've heard they empower developers with tools to build hyperdrive apps efficiently. Does anyone know if they've already released an open-source project or tool?

Yes, they released a package, 'hyperspace-utils'. It has collections of utility functions for handling time, data manipulation and more. You can check it out in their GitHub repository.

I hear that Hyperspace is expanding quickly. Is there a chance they'll support additional programming languages or it's just JavaScript and its variants?

As far as I know, they're focusing on Node.js and GraphQL, however with rapid growth come more opportunities. I think a diverse tech stack could be in their future.

I've talked to their CTO and they're committed to JavaScript ecosystems as of now since the focus is to create a seamless developer experience of building hyperdrive apps using Node.js and GraphQL.

For a Senior Backend Engineer, which skills are crucial? Would love to know the expectations and get a better perspective before applying.

From my experience, being an ex-Hyperspace Backend Engineer, you'll need 3+ years of experience in PostgreSQL, strong understanding of GraphQL, and creating complex Node.js REST API's.

Strong proficiency in designing scalable and efficient systems is essential, as is a strong focus on code quality and thorough testing.

you should als... (truncated due to character limit) be interested in cloud technologies and web standards like containerization, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
