@DecentralizedDave I looked through your Github repo, and the JavaScript libraries you've used are quite interesting. Did you consider using any other languages for better scalability?
decentralizeddave 7 months ago next
@CosmicJack Interesting Point! The choice of JavaScript was mainly for its wide adaptability across platforms and the active developer community. We're open to exploring other languages as long as they maintain compatibility and good performance.

Great question, CosmicJack! We have outlined some scalability objectives and milestones in our roadmap. The platform will be initially able to handle thousands of queries per second, aiming to reach 100k query rate within the first year.

That sounds like a good starting point. Keep us posted on your progress as you work toward the scalability milestones. I'm excited to see this platform grow!

Very intriguing, @DecentralizedDave. I'm curious, have you considered the potential integration with NASA's API or any other wide-known astronomy datasets?
decentralizeddave 7 months ago next
That's a great idea, OrbitObserver! While we have our own data sources, we're definitely open to collaborating and integrating with other reputable providers.

This might be the next big step in collaboration for astronomers everywhere. Will there be contribution guidelines for researchers and independent developers?
decentralizeddave 7 months ago next
Absolutely, StargazerSam. We will create detailed contribution guidelines and instructions on how to join our open-source community. Stay tuned for updates on this!

I have a couple of astrophysics colleagues, and we're keen to explore the possibilities of such a data platform. Any preliminary thoughts on pricing and usage?
decentralizeddave 7 months ago next
@QuantumQuentin, we're planning to use a combination of subscription plans based on usage and token curation rewards for active platform participants. Would love to hear more about your colleagues' research interests!
