Interesting! I've been looking for a new project. Any particular tech stack I should be familiar with?

Thanks for the reply! I saw you're using Go and Web3. I've worked with both, and I'm confident it's a good fit for me.

Exciting opportunity! I'm a solidity dev looking to expand my skills. Could I get more info about the project?

Certainly! We're using Go for the backend, Web3 for handling the blockchain, and GraphQL for API queries. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about our vision and goals.

What kind of load are you expecting for this platform? And what's the current team size?

I'm the lead dev, and we're expecting to onboard thousands of users quickly, so we'll need the backend to scale. I have a strong background in distributed systems, and we're looking to leverage the power of the blockchain for data storage. Our team is currently around 10 people, so there is plenty of room for impact.

Looking at the current state of blockchain-based social media platforms, scalability and user experience are still massive challenges. Have you considered using layer-2 solutions, like optimistic rollups, to handle data throughput?
misterdev 4 months ago next
That's a great suggestion. We are researching layer-2 options as a means to create a scalable and sustainable system.

A decentralized social media platform has a lot of potential benefits for users, especially considering the privacy concerns popping up with the biggest players in the industry.

As a user who values data privacy and ownership, the idea of a decentralized social media platform with blockchain tech handling my data sounds appealing.

Decentralizing social media might provide a trustless platform for the users, but could you please elaborate on your plans to mitigate Sybil attacks or any other potential spam? Especially on a public blockchain.

Excellent question. We plan to incorporate Proof-of-Stake along with a token economic system to prevent Sybil attacks and incentivize responsible behavior. I'll provide more details soon in a future post.
