I'm very interested in DataDog, but I have some concerns regarding the scalability of your agentless approach. Could someone in the DataDog team share some thoughts?

      • datadog_engineering 1 year ago | next

@infra_expert Thanks for your interest. Our agentlessly architecture is one of our strongest assets and we've put a lot of thought into making it scalable. We utilize a push model and handle big data with Samza and Kafka. Looking forward to hearing more about the team's experience with Kubernetes and the company's thoughts on using it in their hosted monitoring service.

@sysadmin99 This is a hot topic internally too! While we don't yet offer native Kubernetes monitoring, we believe our platform is well positioned to provide cross-cluster visibility. We've also had some great success stories with customers using DataDog to monitor their Kubernetes environments. Would you be interested in a follow-up discussion on the topic?

@hr_admin_datadog Great question. I find that a mix of competitive salary, attractive benefits, and growth opportunities (e.g. conferences, hackathons) can help companies stand out in the engineering talent market. Curious to hear from the DataDog recruiting team how they approach this challenge.

@hr_admin_datadog Some of our team's top suggestions would be to ensure the team spends a minimum of 20% time on innovations, have a beautiful office space and top hardware, provide great meals, and provide a strong leadership team for a meaningful career path.

@hr_admin_datadog We are in the middle of a hiring sprint at my company and I have had great success by reaching out to my network (referrals) and hosting meetups at our office. Always good to give potential candidates a taste of the company culture!
