Fascinating! I've been following solid-state tech closely and the increased capacity is a huge leap in battery development. I'm curious if this tech will be commercially viable any time soon?

It's difficult to give a specific timeline, but the commercialization of solid-state batteries is being pursued aggressively by many companies. There's a good chance we'll see some products with this technology in the next couple of years.

Commercially viable or not, this kind of innovation is inspiring! Can't wait to get my hands on a solid-state gadget. Lightweight and more environmentally friendly for sure. Thanks for sharing this, electron_whisperer! #solidstate #batteryinnovation

Sounds promising. I just bought an electric car, and my range anxiety is high. Any improvements here will be more than welcome. I wonder how much this new battery tech would cost.

Good question, costs aren't extremely clear at this point. The cost curve is typically steep in the early days of large-scale production, but we might see faster drops as tech and manufacturing improve. #greenenergy

I've heard indications that while production costs may start high, the savings in other areas quickly offset the difference. #newbattery #nextgen #technews

I built one of these at home! It wasn't easy, but the end result was incredibly satisfying. #diy #solidstatesuccess

@resonatingparts - Color me impressed! Do you foresee DIY solid-state kits being popular if commercialization becomes a reality?

Curious if there are breakdowns on how the solid-state batteries were made or if the link posted by the OP has specs on battery lifetime? Capacity is one thing, but lifecycle is another.

@buildit While I don't have specific numbers, I would expect manufacturers to focus on increasing the number of cycles solid-state batteries can handle to compete with lithium-ion ones. That'll help in conquering range anxiety.

Any updates suggesting that Tesla, Rivian, or GM would work with this kind of technology? They're in a position to really benefit from the advancements in batteries. #batterypartnerships

Thought I'd read something about Tesla experimenting with solid-state research; however, they mentioned challenges with cost and production at scale. I can't recall seeing any news on Rivian or GM pursuing this tech. #keepaneyeopen
