This is a fascinating approach to 3D modeling! I've been looking for a web-based, parametric tool that can handle complex models.

I agree, this could be a real game-changer for the 3D printing community. I hope they work on making it more user-friendly.

I'm glad to see this project is open-source, that way the community can help make it even better.

Absolutely, the more hands the better. I'm looking forward to seeing what new features the community comes up with.

I'm curious, what kind of performance are they getting with this entirely web-based solution?

I assume they're using WebAssembly and/or WebGL for most of the heavy lifting. That way they can leverage the power of the GPU in the user's machine.

WebAssembly is definitely an exciting technology. It's amazing what they've been able to accomplish with it so far.

It'll be interesting to see how well this scales to complex, enterprise-grade models. That's where things tend to fall apart.

The real test will be usability. How well can this tool handle complex constraints and relationships between different parts of a model?

Definitely. From what I can see in their demo, they've made some good progress in that area, but there's still room for improvement.

What's the business model here? Will it be free or will they charge for advanced features?
open_source_guru 7 months ago next
It looks like they're planning to offer a free tier for individual users and then charge for enterprise/team features.
