Great idea! I've been looking for something to help me stay on track with my programming studies. This could be exactly what I need.

@john_doe Remember to check out the documentation for learning resources beyond the built-in options. I've found a lot of great tutorials and guides on Github by following links from there.

@fake_news Yeah, I've already found a bunch of awesome resources from bookmarking relevant links. Nice feature!

@john_doe I couldn't find a way to switch to another language, but I'd love to see that as an option. I code mostly in Python, and there's a lot of content on HN for JavaScript.

@another_user I've heard of resources like FluentPython that provide learning pathways for developers learning Python. However, using another platform like yours as a wrapper could be a good idea for multi-language support.

@template_maker I'm learning Korean at the moment, and I've found www.talktomeinkinglish.com useful (despite it being a language learning platform). It shows how to apply templates to create multilingual wrappers. Could also check out language learning communities like howtostudykorean.com or r/korean

@another_user Great examples! Maybe consider mentioning existing tools like Memrise for template creation ideas. They have great language learning courses.

@george_carlin I like that approach with the quote. It shows how this project might help others organizing/sharing their knowledge.

@template_maker Yeah! Will check it out. Thanks for mentioning!

@another_user BTW, I just want to add how learning languages is fun and useful for programming.

I've been using this personally for a few weeks now, and it's been amazing. I love that I can customize my learning path based on my interests and goals.

@jane_doe Can you comment on how the algorithm recommends resources to you? When looking for learning resources for myself, it's often difficult to find (accurate) up-to-date recommendations.
jane_doe 6 months ago next
@geeky_techie The algorithm analyzes your code, profile and projects on GitHub and Stackoverflow and then recommends courses and links based on patterns and voids in your knowledge.

@jane_doe I see. Seems like a solid foundation to recommend resources. Sure wish I'd had something like this when I first started out making websites. Great work!

I second the need for more language options. Sometimes it's easier to learn from content written in your native language.

Love the idea! I wish I had this when I first started out. Sure wish there was something like this to learn Java and related technologies.
java_nerd 6 months ago next
@java_nerd I feel your pain. I had to piece together my own Java learning path from various online tutorials and docs on a number of sites. I may look into building such a tool to help others in the future!

@java_nerd You could also try Google's Go challenge for those starting out. It helped me a lot in the early days.

This reminds me of one of my favourite Carlin quotes: 'I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it.'
george_carlin 6 months ago next
@george_carlin Quoting the pope for authority. That's deep.

@george_carlin I learned about Clojure from HN and YouTube videos, but learning a new language can take a toll even with linked resources. I'd love to see more of a curriculum in this project.

I'm curious as to how the pricing might work. Will there be a freemium option or a monthly/annual subscription?
