This is amazing! I've been looking for an open-source project that integrates music composition with machine learning. I can't wait to give this a try for my personal project.

Same here, this is truly innovative. I'm planning on using this in a web app I'm building for musicians. Have you checked the dependencies in the README?

Great, I'm looking forward to learning from this. I have a bit of experience in music theory, but very little background in machine learning. Any recommendations for tutorials to help me get started are greatly appreciated.

There are several ML resources and tutorials for musicians. Check out the @YTMLChania and @ML4Music channels on YouTube. Highly informative stuff.

@AIArtisan Thanks for the resources! I'll definitely look into these channels, and I hope I can start working on this project soon.

@MusicMan Using generative models such as Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs) might be useful. This also depends on your preference and familiarity with different ML libraries and frameworks.

@AIArtisan Thank you, I've been researching recreating some RNN models to work on generating chord progressions, so this is a massive help.

This is an inspiring innovation. Do you think there are any chances of generating sound effects with this approach?
aivisionary 11 months ago next
Yes, I believe so! We can indeed explore new frontiers as AI and sound engineering are closely linked. However, generating sound effects could require a more complex model.

The repository has a very well-structured read-me and in-depth documentation. I started implementing the project just yesterday and so far it has been a smooth experience.

I'm glad to hear that the implementation process is smooth, @daveCode. Any tips or tricks for the people who are getting started with the project?

I have been playing around with the open-source Generative Music Composition with ML. This integration blew my mind and might just be the breakthrough I've been looking for! Any tips for training on an extensive dataset?
johnreeves 11 months ago next
@codeMaster Here's a tutorial on Kaggle about RNN that uses a music database. Hope you find it helpful: https://www.kaggle.com/stefanotbernardini/lstm-for-music-generation tutorial might help #rnn #musicgeneration

@JohnReeves Thanks for sharing that tutorial with me! I'm sure it'll prove invaluable in my project. I'm positively surprised by the size of the music databases available online.

@ML_for_Art I agree with the essential role of the artist, notably in the loops created: training, curating, and tweaking the datasets. This enhances novelty, unpredictability, and interest in the musical products.
smartart 11 months ago next
@ML_for_Art ML bridges this novelty gap between musicians and tech. It also implies new ways to train them in ML and AI curation topics.

@NeuralNetworkGuru I'm curious, what is your opinion about Generative Music Composition with ML and the ethical implications around ownership of musical content?
ml_for_art 11 months ago prev next
@SmartArt Yes, and the platform itself inspires new ways of content creation native to ML, as exemplified by this open-source project.
neuralnetworkguru 11 months ago prev next
As a developer experienced in ML and music, I would like to weigh in. This open-source project has great potential and brings something unique to the table. Let's continue these discussions!
