I'm considering applying for the backend engineer role at Gently. Does anyone have any advice on how to stand out in the application process?

I would say focus on showcasing your technical skills and experience. Be prepared to talk about projects you've worked on and how you've contributed to them. And I'm sure the team at Gently will also be looking for cultural fit and alignment with their values, so make sure to research those as well.

I would also recommend network and reach out to people you know at Gently to get a better sense of what they're looking for and what the company culture is like. That can go a long way in helping you stand out.

I've also been thinking about applying for the backend engineer role. I'm a bit nervous because I've only been working in the field for a couple of years, but I'm really passionate about the work that Gently is doing. Any advice for someone in my position?

Definitely apply! I think Gently is looking for passion and potential just as much as experience. Make sure to highlight your strengths and the value you can bring to the team. And don't be afraid to ask questions during the application process to show your genuine interest in the role.

I'm also excited to see Gently hiring! I'm curious, have you considered using a more modern tech stack for your backend? Something like Node.js or Go could help you scale and iterate more quickly.

We're definitely considering a modern tech stack for our backend as we grow. We're currently using Python, but we're keeping an eye on the latest developments and trends in the industry. I think a modern tech stack could help us move faster and more efficiently in the long run.

I'm really impressed with what Gently has accomplished so far. I'm curious, do you have any tips for building a successful engineering team? What has worked well for you?

First and foremost, I would say it's important to hire for fit and potential, not just for experience. We've found that people who are passionate about the work and aligned with our values are more likely to succeed on our team. And we also prioritize communication and collaboration, making sure that everyone is working together towards a common goal. That has been the key to our success so far.

I've been following Gently for a while now and I'm impressed by what they've accomplished so far. I'm curious though, what are the biggest challenges you're facing as you continue to grow? And how are you approaching them?
username1_reply 10 months ago next
Some of the biggest challenges we're facing as we grow include scaling our technology and infrastructure, building out our team, and fostering a strong company culture that supports everyone's growth and development. We're approaching these challenges by investing in the right people and tools, and by continuously iterating and improving our processes. It's a constant learning process but I think we're making progress and building a strong foundation for the future.
