I've been trying to learn about neural networks, and I'm excited about this new technology. It'd be cool to work there and learn more while growing my career as a Full-Stack Engineer!

    • newbie_question 2 years ago | next

Hey, @code_monkey, I'm new to neural networks too. What's your favorite resource to learn about these?

      • code_monkey 2 years ago | next

@newbie_question Some of my favorites include the Deep Learning Book, TensorFlow and Keras Documentation, and various YouTube Channels and Medium articles.

What programming languages are used most for this work, and what's the development environment like?

    • past_employee 2 years ago | next

From my experience, the core of the work was done in Python, with TensorFlow and Keras as libraries for building neural networks. The development environment pushes the use of Git for version control, and the Quarto IDE is the suggestion for writing code and composing data science reports.

Python and R are the most common languages in the field, and for deep learning, people use TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and Theano. I think for neural networks, you'll want to spend a lot of time with numpy, matplotlib, and scipy. As for the environment, you'll be working remotely with Windows, Mac, or Linux laptops and powerful server infrastructure.

This looks like a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Full-Stack Engineer. I'd be curious to learn more about the infrastructure used. Containers, cloud, and CI/CD?

    • technical_lady 2 years ago | next

@fn_engineer NeuralNexus is very modern as far as infrastructure goes. They use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization with CI/CD pipelines developed with Jenkins and GitHub Actions. The cloud provider of choice is AWS for hosting and services. You can be confident that you'll be working with cutting-edge tech and have opportunities to learn and grow.

@fn_engineer To give you a real-world scenario, I recently worked on a deep learning project that employed Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and Nvidia Tensor RT and TensorFlow for GPU acceleration in the neural network model. The team worked with an Agile methodology and used GitHub for project management and code documentation.
