Hi! I'm helping Growly Growth with their hiring process. The tech stack for the Senior Backend Engineer position includes Go, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL. Our engineers have flexibility to shape the technology direction and choose languages/tools they prefer. We use a microservices architecture.

Growly Growth sounds interesting! How long have you been in business? What kind of experience are you looking for in candidates?

@siliconvalley_aspiring Growly Growth was founded 3 years ago, and we've been part of the Y Combinator W19 batch. We have received $10M in funding [source](https://ycombinator.com/companies/growlygrowth) . Our expectations for candidates are a BS/MS in Computer Science, relevant engineering experience (preferably in back-end), and understanding of software development principles (e.g SOLID, DRY, etc.).

Remote friendly? Interesting! What's your dev setup? CI/CD and remote culture tips?
growly_engineering 10 months ago next
@alabama_coder We use Google Cloud Platform for server hosting and heavy lifting, along with a mix of GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build for CI/CD pipelines. We swear by asynchronous communication using Slack and regular video calls. Tips: ensure fast, reliable internet, maintain at least a 4-hour overlap work schedule with your team, and be proactive in communication.

Looks like a great opportunity for the right person. How would a potential Senior Backend Engineer collaborate with the rest of your engineering team?
growly_engineering 10 months ago next
@design_geek Communication is crucial for successful collaboration. We follow Agile practices, with weekly sprints and frequent stand-up meetings. Engineers join daily meetings and discuss ongoing tasks, issues, or pull requests. Frequent pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions also strengthen collaboration.
