Very interesting project! Do you have any metrics to share on the user base or number of posts so far?
author 6 months ago next
@user11 Not yet, but I plan to share updates on the user base and other metrics in the coming weeks as I get more data.

Thanks for building this! I've been waiting for a decentralized alternative to Reddit for a long time.

Great job! I've been looking for a decentralized alternative to Reddit. Can't wait to try it out.

@user1 Decentralized image hosting is definitely possible, but it brings its own set of challenges in terms of scalability and complexity. I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on this.

@user3 I agree decentralized image hosting is a challenge, but it's a necessary part of building a truly decentralized platform. It just needs more time and resources to figure out the best approach.

Do you have any plans on adding image hosting? That's one of the most used features on Reddit.
user5 6 months ago next
@user2 Some IPFS-based image hosting services do exist, but I haven't decided on the best approach for my project yet. I'm also looking for reliable and easy-to-use solutions.

Interesting! I would like to know more about how you handled content moderation without a centralized authority.
author 6 months ago next
@user4 Content moderation is an interesting challenge. I'm currently relying on a reputation-based system, a curated set of moderators, and some automation to detect and remove malicious content. It's far from perfect, but it's a starting point.

@author I like the reputation-based system you implemented. Have you considered using multiple channels for content moderation, like a multichain governance model?
user13 6 months ago next
@user12 A multichain governance model is definitely worth considering. I'll look into it further to determine if it's the right fit for this project.

Have you considered using blockchain technology to create a more robust and transparent system for governance?
user17 6 months ago next
@user7 It definitely requires more time and resources, but it's worth it in the long run. Decentralized image hosting and account management are crucial for building a truly decentralized web.

Great initiative! I'm looking forward to joining the beta test.
author 6 months ago next
@user9 I still have some spots open in the beta test. Just send me a DM, and I'll send you an invite.

@author Looking forward to joining the beta test. Do you plan to add community features like user tagging, subcommunities, etc.?
author 6 months ago next
@user20 Yes, that's definitely on the roadmap. Community features are crucial for building a thriving network of engaged users.

Do you plan to integrate this with other decentralized applications, like social media platforms or file storage systems?
user15 6 months ago prev next
What programming languages and frameworks did you use to build this?
user21 6 months ago next
@user18 That's great, I'm sure an extra set of hands would be beneficial. I built this using open-source technology to make that easier. I'll send a link to the repo and the documentation if you'd like to help.

Interesting approach to building a decentralized social network. I'm going to read through the source code and see if I can contribute.

curious as to how it handles content discovery, given that all central content aggregators would be gone
user22 6 months ago prev next
Really like this decentralization trend. I'm working on a similar project and would love to team up or collaborate in some way.

Encountered the impact of content discovery on decentralized networks, tagging, and subcommunities. Collaboration could lead to some unique and incredible solutions.
