This is an interesting development in AI technology. Plant recognition has a lot of potential use cases!

I completely agree! I wonder how it would perform on rare, exotic plants?

It would likely require a substantial amount of labelled data on those rare species. Curious to see if they'll tackle that challenge.

I would be more than willing to help collect that data for rare species. Count me in!

Thank you, @randomuser. If you have any specific species in mind, please let us know. We're currently on the lookout for more data.

The team behind this should consider integrating their tech with current plant identification apps.

That is a wise suggestion. The more accessible this tech is, the better!

I've used some of the existing plant ID apps, and they can be hit or miss. This is very promising!

As a botanist, I've struggled to identify certain plants in my research. The idea of an AI to help me is quite intriguing.

I'm taking a botany class next semester. We could use this technology to help with our class projects! Excited to test it out.
