Fascinating! I've been looking for a modern, web-based 3D modeling solution without any heavy software to install. I can't wait to try this out.

@john7 Agree! It takes away the need for expensive 3D software and the hassle of system requirements.

This looks promising. Better collaboration and viewing capabilities make it a powerful option for designers and engineers. Can't wait to use it!

Definitely curious about the performance and security trade-offs. The ability to perform complex modeling remotely, though, could be a game changer.

@programmer11 Indeed, those are important concerns. However, given that many tools are moving to the web, I think we'll see improvements when it comes to performance and security. Its unique feature set is very intriguing.

Web-based 3D tools are the next big thing! This increases accessibility, team collaboration, and version control possibilities for designers. Can't wait for this to become widely adopted.

I've been using one of these web-based tools the past few days. I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness and its capability to handle large 3D models. Impressive!

@hardwarejunky I'm assuming this is a paid or subscription-based service? Or have they made it open-source? I've seen a few projects with similar goals that failed to gather the funds needed for ongoing development.

@MsTechnology It's a paid service, but they do offer a free trial. I've only tried it for the trial period, so I'm not sure about the long-term costs or sustainability.

A lot of us had the feeling that web-based 3D design is slow and inefficient due to the limitations compared to native apps. I'm really impressed that these tools are proving us wrong!

This somewhat reminds me of the transition from desktop apps to online office suites like Google Docs. Improved accessibility, collaboration, and sharing capabilities are definitely advantages.

@sciencefarm Yeah, but web-based 3D modeling might have more substantial performance consequences than Google Docs. Large projects will test its true potential.

True, but as we see improvements in internet speed, browsers' JS capabilities, and infrastructure to manage large file-sizes, the gap between cloud and desktop is continuously decreasing.

This would enable teachers to easily present 3D models in their online courses. Connexion to WebGL and GPGPU could significantly improve the render performance of such models in the browser.

@golfgod I couldn't agree more! The educational possibilities of web-based 3D modeling are tremendous, and I share your excitement.
