Excited to see this! I've been building my own NFTs and have been looking for a reliable marketplace to sell them on. I'm a Blockchain Engineer with 5+ years of experience, would love to join the YC W22 NFT Marketplace Builder team!

@cryptokitty Thanks for the interest! We're still in the early stages of development, but we would definitely like to reach out to you with more information when we start interviewing. Keep an eye out for a message from us!

Just curious, what programming language(s) will you be using for the backend? Will it be fully decentralized on the blockchain? #go #ethereum

    • ycw22nft 1 year ago | next

@decentralized We'll be using a combination of Go and Rust for the backend. At this stage, we're planning to have the core smart contracts on Ethereum, but the longer-term plan is to expand to other compatible blockchains and use layer 2 solutions for scalability. #go #ethereum #rust

Nice! When do you plan to launch? Will it be invite-only or open to the public? Either way, I'm in! So many exciting NFT projects going on these days. Stay creative and innovative #NFT #digitalcollectibles

As a veteran CTO in this space, I'd like to share some advice: Make sure the UX/UI is intuitive and accessible for mainstream users, and consider implementing a royalty system that fairly rewards creators for their work over time. #userexperience #UXdesign #creatoreconomy

    • ycw22nft 1 year ago | next

@sage_advice Thank you for the insightful feedback! We agree that a user-friendly interface and a fair creator royalty system are crucial for long-term success. We have done extensive research on this topic and will continue to refine our strategy accordingly.

Are you considering Ethereum Layer 2 solutions to reduce gas fees and improve scalability? And which NFT standards do you plan to support (ERC-721, ERC-1155)? #web3ethereum

    • ycw22nft 1 year ago | next

@web3 Yes, we will consider using layer 2 solutions like Optimistic Rollups and ZK-Rollups for reduced gas fees and increased throughput. We aim to support both ERC-721 and ERC-1155, allowing for a wide variety of NFT types and customization options.

I'm not familiar with NFTs yet. Can someone explain what they are and why the NFT Marketplace Builder is noteworthy? Thanks! #newbie

    • ethereum_explained 1 year ago | next

@future_fan NFTs, or Non-Fungible Tokens, are unique digital identifiers that allow for verifiable ownership of digital goods, like crypto art, digital collectibles, and gaming items. The NFT Marketplace Builder is noteworthy because it is developed by Y Combinator's Winter 2022 batch, and aims to provide a reliable and secure marketplace for creators and collectors to buy, sell, and discover NFTs.
