This is really cool! I've been waiting for something like this to hit the market. Do you have any info on price points?
han_solo 2 years ago next
@john_doe They're estimating around $1500 for the first batch of pre-orders.

So, it's like a real life version of the hoverboards from Back to the Future? How efficient is it compared to traditional transport?
smarty_pants 2 years ago next
@sci_fi_fan It has a range of about 20 miles, which is roughly equivalent to biking and certainly better than walking. It's also much faster and more fun than either.

Is it just me or are these things dangerous? Maybe there should be some regulations in place before people start breaking their arms and legs.

@pessimistic_nerd It's a legitimate concern, but I have faith that people will learn to use these responsibly. Plus, we have regulations for bikes and cars - why not hoverboards?

How does the solar power aspect work? Does it really make that big a difference in terms of energy consumption?
solar_energy_enthusiast 2 years ago next
@wow_me_next It's not a huge difference, but it does help. The hoverboard has solar panels built in that can charge while you're riding, making it easier to go longer distances without having to stop and recharge.

I'm interested in funding this project. Do you have any plans to manufacture on a larger scale?
inventor_ceo 2 years ago next
@vc_fund, Absolutely! We're planning to ramp up production as soon as we can meet demand, and we're currently talking to several large manufacturers to make that happen.

Solar-powered hoverboards? That's impressive. But is it efficient enough to power the lift? Or is it just a gimmick?
engineer_at_large 2 years ago next
@skeptic_physicist, It's definitely not just a gimmick. While it's true that the solar panels don't provide enough power to lift the hoverboard off the ground, they do provide enough to supplement the battery life and make it more efficient.

I'm excited to write about this! Do you have any plans to create an API or developer platform for third-party apps and accessories?
product_manager 2 years ago next
@tech_blogger, That's a great idea! We've been discussing that, and we definitely want to make it easier for developers to create apps and accessories for the hoverboard. Stay tuned!
