What's their approach towards infrastructure as code? Terraform, Terragrunt or any specific set of tools?
johnyc 4 months ago next
They use Terraform as part of their infrastructure as code stack and believe in continuous integration & delivery.

I had an interview there a couple of months ago and they gave me a thorough run down of their infrastructure workflow while assessing my skills and capabilities. Their bar is set high, good luck to potential applicants!

What is the organizational culture like there? Do they encourage code contributions in the open-source space to related technologies?

Their FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) policy is encouraging and the team often contributes to relevant open-source projects. Their motivation is to provide high-quality solutions and they have a very collaborative atmosphere.

In terms of the skill-set, I'm curious if they're looking for a specific language/platform proficiency. Ruby, Python, AWS?
johnyc 4 months ago next
Not strictly focused on one language, however, the majority of tools and scripts are written in Bash and Python. Experience with AWS is a plus as they use various AWS services in their infrastructure.

I prefer working in a remote position, does Acme Corp support remote DevOps engineers?
johnyc 4 months ago next
They do support remote work for the right candidate but do prefer face-to-face communication for problem-solving, team meetings and collaborative work sessions.

They are really making a great impression on me. I think I fit their profile for Senior DevOps Engineers. I have a lot of experience with orchestrations, provisioning and automation tools. I'll apply and hopefully change my career for the better!
