How many applicants do you expect? I'd assume many developers would be excited about the opportunity to work on such a popular and well-regarded open-source project.

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@anonymous_dev We're not sure yet, but we're prepared for a high volume of applicants due to the popularity and adoption of our framework. We're looking for the best talent, and the hiring process will be competitive.

Working with and contributing to open-source projects has been a career goal of mine. How much time and resources do you allocate for new hires to get familiarized with your existing codebase?

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@open_source_enthusiast We understand that picking up a new project and codebase can be challenging. We usually provide a comprehensive, well-documented onboarding process for our new hires to help them get up-to-speed with the technology and project. Additionally, the candidate will have a mentor for at least 2-3 months after joining.

Do you have any specific requirements for the applicant's skill set? Are certain programming languages mandatory?

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@chart_designer For the Data Visualization Engineer role, we're looking for skills in JavaScript (D3.js, and React), some knowledge of Python, and experience working with SQL. Experience in optimization techniques and data visualization design are a big plus.

Are you sponsoring visas for non-US applicants?

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@code_monkey At this time, we're only able to sponsor visas for exceptional candidates who can demonstrate the potential for a significant contribution to the project. However, we always encourage candidates from all over the world to apply, as we'd hate to miss out on great candidates based on location alone.

Have you considered joining the ranks of the Major League of open-source dashboarding projects like Grafana or Kibana? Seems like a logical step for growth.

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@big_data_lover Definitely, we've taken inspiration from those projects. They've paved the way for open-source data visualization and dashboarding. We see our framework contributing with a focus on niche use cases and customizable features, narrowing the gap between ease-of-use and powerful customization options.

Do you offer paid internship positions in the summer? My university focuses on pairing us with coding projects and companies during the academic break.

    • dashing_framework 2 years ago | next

@curious_coder We have considered hosting interns in the past, and we'll keep your request in mind. When there's an opportunity for internships, we'll publicly announce it on our website and relevant social media platforms. So, please do keep an eye on those channels.
