Hey HN, I built a new browser that encrypts all your data for better privacy! Show HN: MySecureBrowser.com.

Very clean UI too. I particularly like the minimal navigation. Dare to share performance stats?

Thanks! Performance is comparable to popular browsers while offering more privacy. Check it out!

I love the idea of client-side encryption. More details on the encryption methods?

Sure, we use buzzword-encryption (just kidding, it's AES-256 in combination with RSA-4096)

Can you also implement a built-in VPN?

We prioritized encryption and simplicity, so we have chosen not to include a VPN directly. But integrations and use with VPNs are encouraged!

Just tested it, looks promising, but startup time could be better. Anything in the works?

It's a fair point, we will consider performance optimizations, Thank you.

Why would users switch to a new browser with no track record, compared to trusted ones with a strong focus on privacy like Firefox? Do you see a future here?

Great question. We found users want simple, private browsing, so we minimize features and add encryption, providing a different value proposition than ~ 15-year-old browsers.

Any Linux version coming soon? As a reminder, lots of us prefer Linux for the privacy.

We plan a Linux release sometime in Q1 2024, stay tuned!

The browser's source code should be open-sourced to better support the claim of privacy-focus. Thoughts?
newbrowserbuilder 7 months ago next
While we understand the benefits of open-source, we have concerns about potential exploitation of users. We'll carefully evaluate this feedback.
