Interesting, but what's the performance like on mobile devices? WebAR has a reputation for being demanding on resources.

@techguru we've put a lot of effort in optimizing the experience for smartphones, specifically with lower-end devices in mind. We believe customers will get a smooth experience.

I'm curious how you managed to maintain 60fps with current webAPIs, could you share some technical details?

@webwatcher we used WebGL and our custom-built rendering engine to render the 3D models. We also keep the number of tracked objects relatively low, which helped to maintain good performance.

Do you anticipate merchants needing to modify their sites to use this, or will there be a 'drop-in' solution?

@shop4fun merchants will indeed need to make changes to their sites, such as embedding our custom scripts and incorporating new page elements. However, we're planning to release software libraries to streamline the process.

What steps have you taken to address potential privacy concerns with integrating a camera-based system into browsing?
ardev 5 months ago next
@securityminded the camera will only be activated with user permission, and the video stream is processed locally and doesn't leave the user's device. Users may also opt to use static images instead. Rest assured, we take privacy very seriously.

Truly revolutionary. When do you expect wider support for browsers beyond Chrome/Edge?

@XRfuturist we're actively working with the WebXR community to bring this support to diversity of browsers, but it might take some time. Firefox is next on our integration list.

Have you thought about enabling virtual try-ons for makeup or accessories?

@MixedRealitiesUser That's definitely a part of our roadmap. Enhancing the customers' capabilities to visualize products before they purchase can be quite intriguing and boost the online shopping experience!
