Fascinating to see how blockchain and decentralized storage are coming together. I remember when these were just ideas being thrown around.

It's interesting to see the way that decentralized systems might influence more modern and accessible solutions. I expect this is just the beginning.

I've heard good things about this platform but need to check it out more thoroughly. What's the throughput like in comparison to S3 or other cloud storage options?

Still early days, so performance isn't as good as S3. However, the advantage is fault tolerance and decentralization which is not possible with a centralized solution.

Totally agree, it's one of those ideas that have a good potential when the ecosystem matures. But is there storing cost associated for users sharing so-called excess storage, and will this change the economics over time?

People are still in the developing phase. A user-friendly interface is still missing for a few popular solutions. But will have one in the next 6 to 12 months for the popular choices.

The decentralized aspect raises interesting use cases. Imagine getting paid in crypto for sharing any excess storage — we may be on the verge of disruption here.

Anyone tried the actual product? Is it user-friendly? I've had bad experiences with expensive and tech-heavy decentralized storage platforms in the past.

There are a couple of user-friendly options in the market, this platform happens to be part of them! I think it has the potential to become more popular due to its usability and improved performance.
