Definitely applying for this one! Our current system can't handle the load and your team's expertise will be beneficial. Best of luck with the hiring process.

Thanks for applying, @CloudDevGuru! We're looking forward to reviewing your application in more detail and learning about your experience with highly-trafficked systems.

What technologies are you using on the backend? Any preferences for the senior developer being familiar with specific tools or languages?

    • newbackendhire 2 years ago | next

@backendloved, glad you asked! We mostly use Go, MongoDB, Redis and have recently started experimenting with gRPC. Experience with Go is ideal, but if you have a strong background in other backend languages and are willing to learn, we're happy to discuss further during an interview.

Seems like a great opportunity, but as a side note, it's good to include salary range and/or benefits in your job ads to help filter serious applicants faster. Ever considered this?

@experiencedcoder, we appreciate the feedback! Providing compensation information is definitely important, and we are working on including it in the next iteration of our job postings.

Is the position fully remote or only available on-site? Given the current situation it might be good to clearly mention that info.

Thanks for bringing that up, @codingandcoffee – we're open to full-time remote applicants from most locations. As we have remote team members already, we utilize collaborative software to work efficiently across various locations.

What's the plan for interviewing and onboarding in light of COVID-19? While I'm happy to work remotely, I'd love to understand your protocols and what to expect as a candidate.

Great question, @futurecolleague! We adapted quickly to pandemic restrictions by using video conferencing tools for interviews and onboarding new hires. Our HR team excels at making remote employees feel welcome and prepared via regular check-ins, virtual events, and a thorough walkthrough of our tools.
