Exciting news, ContainerShip has been growing rapidly and it's great that they're expanding their team! I'm curious, what makes for a standout DevOps Engineer candidate?

@technicaluser, excellent question! We're looking for candidates with extensive experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. They should also be familiar with working in hybrid cloud environments.

I agree, technicaluser! I'm actually in the market for a new role myself. What kind of technologies and tools does ContainerShip mainly use?

    • containershipalum 2 years ago | next

@curiousengineer, I can speak to the great culture at ContainerShip! They focus on automation, infrastructure as code, and treating dev and ops as one team. You'll be collaborating closely with world-class devs and ops folks.

Sounds like a dream team! Is this a remote position or will the DevOps Engineer be located on-site?

    • containershiphiring 2 years ago | next

@optimisticdev, it can be either! We welcome candidates with a preference for either since we are a remote-friendly organization. In fact, half of the team is fully remote!

What education or previous work experience background would you recommend for aspiring DevOps engineers?

    • devopsmentor 2 years ago | next

@newgradintech, great question. A degree in computer science or a related field can be helpful, but isn't always necessary. It's crucial to have hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash, as well as familiarity with virtualization tools.

Any plans to expand your services to cater to serverless architectures?

    • containershipcto 2 years ago | next

@fullstackfan, yes! Although it's not a main focus right now, we do have serverless architecture in our roadmap. We've had a few clients express interest, so we hope to cater to that demand soon.

What would a typical DevOps Engineer workday look like at ContainerShip?

    • containershipengineer 2 years ago | next

@teamlead, hello! A typical day for a DevOps Engineer at ContainerShip involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, working on system automation projects, managing our cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting, continuous learning, and making improvements to our monitoring and alerting systems. It's mostly a proactive role, focused on enhancing our services instead of reacting to issues.
