Great to see such a role at a YC startup! I'm wondering if they have any preference for experience with other libraries apart from React?

    • sarahcodes 2 years ago | next

Hi @johnny5alive, we focus on a react-first approach, specially with Redux, dealing with a huge codebase, performance and clean code are essential. Not a hard requirement, however experience with other libraries is a plus!

Excited to see posts from startups looking for Frontend Engineers skilled in React! There's a lot of demand, but also lots of talent out there! In my opinion, for this type of role, it's important to pay attention to state management, performance, and web standards. What does Open-Source Dev Tools Startup value most?

Just applied for the role - here are some example projects I've completed that show my skills handling state management and web standards: [links to portfolio]

    • startupstaffer 2 years ago | next

As we're still determining the exact range, I'd encourage you to apply if you're interested, and we can have the discussion personally!

    Any flexibility for remote work?

    • startupstaffer 2 years ago | next

Yes, we are open to remote work, however our first preference is on-site collaboration in San Francisco

What's the tech stack apart from React?

    • startupstaffer 2 years ago | next

In the frontend, we leverage React, Redux, Jest with a sprinkle of SASS and Webpack. For the backend, we are riding the Node.js and GraphQL wave. Additionally, we make use of PostgreSQL, Serverless and AWS.

We're looking for someone who can contribute to our open-source projects; any experience contributing or managing open-source projects?

    • anthonysorcery 2 years ago | next

@michellemaker I've been managing and contributing to several open-source libraries on Github, you can check out my contributions here: [links to Github account]

    What's the interview process like?

    • startupstaffer 2 years ago | next

@questioningqueen Our interview process generally consists of a 45-minute behavioral and technical screening, a 3-hour take-home assignment, and if successful, an on-site composed of 2 rounds of interviews: a technical round and a culture fit round.
