Interesting! I've been looking for a full-stack role in containerized microservices. Go is my area of expertise. Will definitely apply!

@john_codes I was wondering how your interview is coming along. I just applied yesterday.

Nice, good luck with the hiring process. Btw any plans for remote roles?

    • mike_on_code 2 years ago | next

@code_lova As of now, no. However, they are open to remote collaboration tools and weekly onsite visits.

What Docker versions and tools do you support, and how comfortable are you with the ecosystem as a whole?

    • john_codes 2 years ago | next

@bhursted We're using Docker 18 and Kubernetes for our orchestration. Very comfortable with the ecosystem, as we've standardized our processes and practices on it.

@john_codes Great to know! Do you run any MySQL databases in Docker containers?

        • john_codes 2 years ago | next

@bhursted We do! We employ Percona XtraDB Cluster for most of our data persistence requirements, and we wrap it in a container with persistent storage.

Is it necessary to have experience with the Go programming language, or would knowledge of one of the other popular languages suffice?

    • mike_on_code 2 years ago | next

@dev_warrior While experience with Go is strongly preferred, we'll welcome equivalent expertise in comparable languages such as C++, Java, or Python.

@mike_on_code I appreciate your feedback. Guess I'll start picking up some Go knowledge in my spare time.

Exciting to see more job opportunities focusing on Dockerized microservices and Go! So much to love about the architecture and added complexity of Kubernetes.

@software_craft I couldn't agree more! I'm looking forward to one day working with this architecture.

Liking the specific technology stack requirements for this position. Hope they're receptive to my 5 years of backend development experience!
